DeSantis is asking the right question.

Governor Ron DeSantis is saying what every conservative has been thinking—why isn’t Congress ready to fight back against activist federal judges? Everyone saw this coming. It was 100% predictable that as soon as Trump got back into office, unelected left-wing judges would start abusing their power to obstruct his agenda. So why weren’t Republicans in Congress prepared for it? Why weren’t jurisdiction-stripping bills lined up on day one to put an end to this nonsense?

DeSantis is calling out the real problem—Congress has the power to strip these rogue courts of their jurisdiction, but they aren’t using it. Instead, we’re watching activist judges issue ruling after ruling to sabotage Trump’s presidency, and Republicans in Congress are acting like their hands are tied. Newsflash: they’re not. They could fix this tomorrow if they had the backbone to do it.

Just this week, Trump has been hit with injunctions blocking him from:

  • Banning transgender individuals from the military

  • Recouping $20 billion in canceled Biden-era climate grants

  • Deporting illegal aliens under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798

And in one of the most outrageous rulings yet, a federal judge actually blocked Trump from deporting Venezuelan gang members. Let that sink in. The President of the United States—who was elected in part to clean up our immigration system and deport violent criminals—is being told by an unelected judge that he has to keep dangerous gang members inside our country. How is this even happening? How does one judge get to overrule the elected leader of the United States on an issue that directly affects national security?

Congress has every constitutional right to put a stop to this, and yet, we’re hearing excuses instead of action. Chip Roy pointed out that impeachment would be difficult because 14 Senate Democrats would need to vote for it—fair enough. But he also admitted there are other ways to fight back. The House could pass a resolution declaring an invasion at the southern border and defund radical courts. More importantly, Congress could strip the jurisdiction of these activist courts altogether, making it illegal for them to rule on immigration, border security, and national defense issues.

DeSantis is right to ask the question: why wasn’t this ready to go on day one? Everyone saw what happened during Trump’s first term—left-wing judges issued nationwide injunctions on nearly every major policy Trump tried to implement. They blocked the travel ban, DACA repeal, sanctuary city crackdowns, and dozens of other executive actions. There was no reason to think this time would be any different—so why didn’t Congress prepare? After all, Republicans are only guaranteed to have control of Congress for a handful more of months. Midterms are fast approaching, and anything can happen,

The reality is, too many Republicans in Congress are weak and afraid. They talk tough about fighting back, but when it comes time to actually use their constitutional authority, they shrink. Some of them secretly like the courts stepping in to block Trump because it lets them avoid taking real political risks. They’d rather sit back and complain about activist judges than actually do their jobs and fix the problem.

Meanwhile, the left has no problem using the courts to advance its agenda. They’ve weaponized the judiciary for decades, knowing they can rely on judges to do what they couldn’t get through Congress. They used judges to legalize abortion nationwide, block Trump’s policies, and even rewrite election laws in 2020. And now, they’re using the courts to hijack Trump’s second term before it even gets off the ground.

Enough is enough. Congress has the power to strip these judges of their ability to interfere with Trump’s policies, and they need to do it immediately. The Constitution gives Congress the ability to limit the jurisdiction of federal courts, meaning they can pass a law that says activist judges can no longer rule on issues like immigration, border security, military policy, and executive orders. Once Congress does this, these radical judges will no longer be able to issue these ridiculous nationwide injunctions.

Republicans in Congress need to wake up and stop playing defense. The left is using every tool at its disposal to block Trump’s agenda, and if the GOP doesn’t start fighting back with the full power of Congress, they’re going to let Trump’s second term get bogged down in legal battles just like his first one.

DeSantis is 100% right to demand action. It’s not enough to just complain about activist judges—Congress needs to strip their power, limit their jurisdiction, and stop them from sabotaging Trump’s presidency. The American people elected Trump to secure the border, fix our broken immigration system, and put America First—not to sit around and watch judges overrule the will of the voters.

This is a test for the Republican-controlled Congress. If they fail to act, they will let the courts run the country instead of the elected President. It’s time for real leadership, real action, and real consequences for these rogue judges. Congress must strip their power now—before it’s too late.

Do you think Congress should be doing more to help Trump fight back against these activist judges?
